BE A LEADER ON THE MOUNTAIN

Our Alpine Leader Courses are designed to do just that. We will welcome you into the Snowstyle family and furnish you with the knowledge required to lead a group in the event of an accident, emergency or in case you simply want to offer some flexibility within your party. The course is backed by UK Snowsports and is internationally recognised giving you not only valuable information, but also something tangible when travelling.

SO WHAT'S INCLUDED?

WE OFFER PRIVATE TRANSFERS

Private transfers are provided from Salzburg Airport directly to our resort accommodation.

HAND PICKED HOTELS

We use three or four-star, family-run hotels exclusively for our Alpine Leaders Courses and all accommodation is always booked on a half-board basis. A hearty breakfast each morning would include freshly baked rolls served together with locally sourced meats, cheeses, and preserves; cereals and pastries will also be available accompanied by freshly brewed coffee, a selection of teas as well as fruit juice.

Evening meals are a three course affair starting with a traditional soup before moving on to your choice of main course – this choice will be made at breakfast and will include a meat, fish and vegetarian option each day and rest assured, all dietary requirements are catered for. All good evening meals are rounded off with something sweet setting you up nicely for the rest of the evening.

With all of our hotels situated in the centre of Altenmarkt, any free time can be enjoyed whilst exploring this picturesque, alpine village.

WHERE ARE WE BASED?

Our accommodation is based in Altenmarkt im Pongau –  we’ve found it’s great to be at the centre of where it’s at! Our town offers many facilities, all within walking distance:

  • Regular bus services – around the town and to the slopes!
  • Supermarkets
  • Wintersport shops
  • Natural ice rink
  • Commercial toboggan run
  • Therme Amadè spa
  • Water amusement park
  • Lively town centre
  • Bars & restaurants
  • And of course… the après scene!

We’re based in the Ski Amadé, one of Europe’s biggest ski areas. The Amadé lift pass offers over 860km of piste and is made up of World Cup resorts such as Zauchensee, Schladming and Flachau together with some other traditional mountain resorts offering some truly breathtaking skiing. Whilst Austria is renowned for it’s love of racing, freestyle skiing has definitely made it’s mark and we’re lucky enough to have the world class Absolout Park on our doorstep.

EQUIPMENT OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY

All candidates in need of equipment will be asked to supply us with their requirements in advance of arrival.

  • Ski boots
  • Skis

WHO TRAINS OUR CANDIDATES?

All courses will be undertaken by Basi-partnered trainers, to ensure that the delivery of the course follows UK Snowsports requirements. Our team is motivated to deliver the best knowledge available and will be happy to give some individual feedback during your time with us.

SO HOW DOES THE COURSE WORK?

The course is held over five days and is typically structured over a long weekend offering flexibility to teachers and party leaders alike.

Day Two (Friday):

  • Morning – Orientation: this would be a chance for the instructor to deliver the necessary information required to lead a group on the mountain including in their delivery all considerations required when attempting to lead a group to safety or when leading a group allowing for an extension to the otherwise fully supervised and instructed ski day i.e. when the official ski school day is over and the group wants to do another run or two
  • Afternoon – Candidates are to split into two groups with group one given the opportunity to navigate and lead on a predetermined route

Day Three (Saturday):

  • Morning – Group two given the opportunity to navigate and lead on a predetermined route
  • Lunch – Review of both groups’ candidate lead navigation on a predetermined route

Own your season and learn the basics

Our advice to you will always be the same – get as much out of your winter as you can and we can help you with that. We have plenty of material available to send you to help you on your way before you even depart for Austria and even more once you’re here with us. Don’t be shy, give it a try!

We understand that many of our students will either not have their own kit or simply want an upgrade – we are on hand to advise you on what is most suitable and can offer great discounts to soften the blow!

HOW ELSE CAN WE HELP YOU?

Your season belongs to you – you own it and we want to help you make it the best it can be.

Simple things like a visit from family and friends can put the icing on the cake. We will be happy to make any arrangements you need including airport transfers, hotels, lift cards and ski hire. We know that what we’re offering is an experience you’ll never forget. No matter what, there will never be a dull moment in your winter with us!

Not Included

Everyone will have different requirements regarding travel to Austria. Things such as your location, the amount of luggage you want to bring or even down to your previous travel experience might influence your decision. We are on hand to offer some friendly advice which will hopefully prove helpful in the organisation of your journey.

Insurance requirements are an individual concern, and as a result it wouldn’t be appropriate for us to include this, however we are able to recommend options for you should you need assistance.
